MELODI workshop on medical radiation, October 27─28, 2025
A Multidisciplinary European Low Dose Initiative (MELODI) workshop focusing on radiation exposure in the context of medical uses of radiation will be arranged on October 27─28, 2025. The meeting will be hosted by STUK – Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority in Tikkurila, Finland, close to Helsinki. Attendance in person is encouraged but online participation will also be possible.
Program
The topics include dosimetry, immunological effects, biomarkers, cancer risk and non-cancer health effects and variation in susceptibility. The program will cover both invited talks and submitted presentations. Thematic sessions will focus on the following topics and abstracts on these issues are encouraged:
• Biomarkers of radiation exposure and risk
• Effects of radiotherapy on off-target tissues
• Non-cancer effects of ionizing radiation
• Health effects of internal exposure to radionuclides/Risks and doses from theranostics, radionuclide diagnostics and therapy
• Doses and risks from cancer screening
• Effects of spatial and temporal variations in dose delivery
Perspective papers will be prepared on the main themes of the workshop after the meeting and published in a special journal issue.
